You know, at some point in life, people start looking up to you.
Whether you like it or not, you become a role model. You become a teacher, whether by speech or conduct.
It’s not like it’s easy to be that. But, I have come to realize that there is no way you can live without affecting and influencing others. So what can you do? Just live as yourself. Just live every single day doing whatever you can to the best of your ability.
Not just living, but teaching. Leading. Because just as you once followed someone, so too must others follow you. It’s a circle of life sorta thing. And you know, it’s not all that bad.
I recently came back from my Youth Ministry retreat. Every single year at retreat, people always tell me that I am a great person to be around and other great compliments like that. I honestly never feel like I deserve them, and I am humbled to be someone people look up to. But, it gives me reason. It gives me purpose.
For, if I don’t wanna live for myself, then I shall live for others. And I would say that I’m doing a pretty good job.
I love inspiring young kids and just becoming someone people can follow.
Band freshmen (freshmen in general) said they look up to me. I’m happy.
